Beauty For Ashes
Trees begetting, leaves unfurling
Traders trading, lives unfolding
Legacies crafted, stories told
Time can’t touch these memories
Like shadows cast in a dream
From the seeds we sow unseen
A swift passing
Hope slipping through our grasp
Dreams lost in a single breath
Fading like sunlight’s last kiss
Nothing to hold
Nothing to grasp
Everything we had is now gone
Slipping away, like the dust of the dawn
We live and we die
A blossom that fades and falls
Our achievements & our possessions
Meaningless, in the end
We cannot take them with us
We’re like butterflies, fluttering
Across the canvas of our lives
Each moment precious, each memory
As infinite as a thousand skies.
