Maybe I should, maybe you should, maybe we all should…

While reading this book, I had so many epiphanies, but two of them rang out the most in my mind.

One is that therapy, like technology, is becoming increasingly important in our lives. Just like everyone uses technology every day, we are now realizing the importance of taking care of our mental health. More and more people are starting to seek help from professionals to make sure their minds are healthy and happy. It is a trend that is growing, and it will not be long before seeking therapy becomes as common as using a smartphone or a computer.

The second is that you do not have to be depressed or suicidal to go for therapy; everything might be going well, but that does not mean therapy is not for you because therapy is not about the circumstances around you or the situation of things around you; it is about you, who you really are; it’s about confronting those long-repressed emotions, albeit done unconsciously; it deals with the past while walking you through the present and keeps your future in sight. It helps hold a mirror to your face so that you can see yourself in all your glory and shame.

In all the books that I have read, and I have read a lot, I have never read a book that made me so in tune with my emotions as this one. This book made me realize that behind every outward emotion, there is always an underlying emotion that we rarely acknowledge.

It helps you come to terms with things you have never thought of while carrying you along with words that are witty and funny; it not only appeals to my intellect and mind but also to my heart. This book is one of the best I have read this year.
