PUBLIC LAUNCH OF THE ZACCHEUS ONUMBA DIBIAEZUE MEMORIAL LIBRARIES (ZODML); NIGERIA’S LARGEST FREE ONLINE LIBRARY

The Zaccheus Onumba Dibiaezue Memorial Libraries (ZODML) has existed for a long time. It was founded in 1999 and has since established 54 libraries across Nigeria. It is located in 196B Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria.

The online library launch took place today, 24th February, 2022. This is to extend the library’s impact and reach, in a way that supports Nigeria’s youth with access to free sources of information and learning tools to acquire knowledge.
The highly-anticipated event, “You are Limitless”, saw both the physical and virtual attendance of students, teachers, and literary enthusiasts. Also, the 2021 winner of the NLNG Nigeria Prize for Literature, Prof. Cheluchi Onyemelukwe, Multiple poetry slam champion, Tobi Abiodun, and published poet, Precious Arinze with speeches and spoken word. By and by, it was an exciting event.
The late Zaccheus Onumba Dibiaezue was a Nigerian economist, lawyer, and philanthropist. He served as the first company secretary of the African Continental Bank, as well as the Executive Chairman of the Eastern Nigeria Development Corporation, Commissioner of Finance and Commissioner of Agriculture in the former East Central State.
He was a man passionate about learning and seeing that people have more equal access to education. The ZODML online library is his legacy that still lives on.
With the launch of the ZODML online library, students, teachers and scholars alike can now enjoy more access to a wealth of knowledge.
